The Book of Wisdom! At last! :extrahappy: I have goose bumps on my arms reading the exhortations and descriptions.

Years ago… The Book of Wisdom… grabbed me. I was a goner. I was hooked. I was a docile pet on a satin leash… you could always bring me back to Wisdom and make me sit and be still.

For a long while now I have been increasingly aware of … how can I put it? … an awareness of the nature of the other in my conversations… not just the words being said… but the cry of the soul saying them.

I am also aware that I am weak… weeeeeaaak. Cleverness often seems to me so preferable to Wisdom. But I’ll say about cleverness what Milton Acorn once said about Toronto: it promises much and delivers little.

When awareness comes to me in the middle of a conversation, I can hear my own soul crying out for a light to be before me, to guide me … gently … toward … how can I put it? … genuineness … and what is memorable food and what is timeless …

The silences in poetry, as in music, are eloquent. And we haven’t even got to my favourite parts of BoW yet. I can hardly wait. ani

:heaven::heaven::heaven:
I love learning. This is what I was looking for a while back. Someone to EXPLAIN my religion to me. Not make an argument about it. I love my Bible, but am afraid to misinterpret it. Tech me, a lowly sinner, what it is I need to understand
God Bless:)

This book completely blows my mind. I can’t believe the protestants took this book out of their bible. It’s like they are intentionally trying to hide from love and truth in it’s most beautiful and purest of forms. The Wisdom of God Himself. All knowlege of the creation and the Creator. I just goes to show how weak protestants are. Affraid of their own shadows and lazy beyond all belief. They want to believe faith alone will save them and they have a free pass to commit sin against themselves and God. They know deep in their hearts that it takes lots of work and tribulation to truely become a friend of God and obtain His Wisdom. I don’t have my bible right in front of me but I remember that somewhere close to the beginning of this amazing book it says that those who have wisdom are the true friends of God. Any church that intentionally hides from the beauty of this book and leads it’s people away from obtaining the promises of this book is owned by the counterfeit of wisdom, the master of all lies and anti-wisdom… Satan himself. I pity and pray for our poor and misguided protestant brothers and sisters. What can be done to help them. I feel as if God has blessed me with so much wisdom but a solution to this disaster I can not find. How can we enlighten those who protest the one true Church of Christ and the pillar of all truth. I feel that this poor country will feel the wrath of God one day for it’s intentional fleeing from the truth. Apparantly wisdom is out there for anyone who is willing to love her and God above all things but so few people have attained that wisdom. They themselves preach that it feels so good to love God above all things so why don’t they all have his wisdom? It’s obvious they don’t or they wouldn’t be PROTESTANTS. I almost feel ashamed that it took me 23 years to embrace her. I’m gonna shut up because I can go on all night. I simple can’t contain myself. I’m the weakest I’ve ever been but I feel so loved. It disgusts me that I am going to be a sinner so long as my flesh lives and there is nothing I can do about it!

It clearly says in 1:13-15 and 2 :23-24 that God and death do not go together and that God did not create death or decay in humans or animals.Here I must ask when did death of animals take place.Would it be in order to accept that there was no death or decay before the Fall for humans and animals - twinc

Wisdom 1:13 Because God did not make death, nor does he rejoice in the destruction of the living.

It gets stressed sometimes on how easy it is to live an erring way of life and other passages that suggest very few will achieve salvation that verse 13 is comforting to hear. God doesn’t want us to die. He loves us and wants us to have salvation. 🙂
yes so here we may well ask when and how did death first start viz did any animals or humans die before the Fall etc - caused by man and the devil[Wisdom 2:23-24] - twinc

Yup, for Chapter 2 of The Book of Wisdom verse 24: It was the Devil’s jealousy that brought death into the world, and those who belong to the Devil are the ones who will die.
