It was also nice having a place where we could hear the opinions of real canon lawyers like @acanonlawyer I personally always found his takes on things edifying.

Wow so glad I saw this thread… I too have thousands of posts going back to 2004… I’m sure among all of that I’ve said at least one or two wise things!

But how do you use this, to create something in user-friendly, readable text form?

All I get is an Excel-compatible file that is chopped all to pieces.
 
I’m not sure. Perhaps there’s a a program to format it?

I wondered if there might be some kind of easy concatenation software online. I used to write simple concatenation programs within Excel at my place of business, and to do something like what would have to be done with the data dump that CAF provides would be beyond nightmarish. I would like to find something turnkey that would do the same thing.

What it download exactly? Just ours posts? Only the public messages but not the private messages?
 
IIRC Excel can export data as a CSV file. You should be able to find a CSV parser online, or write one yourself. CSV is a simple text format not that difficult to parse.
