Rather than click bait claiming a “bible ban,” here’s the actual text of the proposed legislation: Bill Text - AB-2943 Unlawful business practices: sexual orientation change efforts.

And here’s the legislative counsel’s digest:
Existing law, the Consumer Legal Remedies Act, makes unlawful certain unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices undertaken by any person in a transaction intended to result, or which results, in the sale or lease of goods or services to any consumer. Existing law authorizes any consumer who suffers damages as a result of these unlawful practices to bring an action against that person to recover damages, among other things.

Existing law prohibits mental health providers, as defined, from performing sexual orientation change efforts, as specified, with a patient under 18 years of age. Existing law requires a violation of this provision to be considered unprofessional conduct and subjects the provider to discipline by the provider’s licensing entity.

This bill would include, as an unlawful practice prohibited under the Consumer Legal Remedies Act, advertising, offering to engage in, or engaging in sexual orientation change efforts with an individual. The bill would also declare the intent of the Legislature in this regard.
If you’re going to discuss it, at least discuss what has actually been proposed.

click bait
Having read it, I can confirm that that’s exactly what it is. Pure and simple click bait. And drivel.

Stuff like this makes all of us look silly in the eyes of the public. It really detracts from our credibility, sincerity and honesty.

But the question is is is it clickbait if the words in the text of the actual bill are convertly made to appear that nothing is going on but it really is. aka evil people language. There is many many other news stations and websites talking about this same thing.

I put this up to get see what people thought about it and I used that website as just one website. I dont call it fake news if there are some major news sites talking about it also.

Maybe it’s time to pop in for a BS filter change?

It really makes me sad when people blither and lie in the name of Our Lord and His Holy Church. It makes all of us look like kooks and liars, and serves only to make others steer clear of us.

True, thats why its always good to have knowledge so we dont get decieved, even when people with an agenda try to slowly erode and outlaw certain things that give the agenda a slow creep to do more damage. We should all know the difference between the youtube kook who says that certain people are the antichrist and lizard people and when there is an creep agenda to erode rights of people.

If major news sites are talking about it – hopefully minus the hysterics-- why not link to one of them? Then you could have a serious discussion about whether or not this is a good idea rather than talking about whether or not it would ban bibles.

The only one of those that is a credible news source is ABC, which mentions nothing about the imaginary “Bible ban”.

There will be no ban on Bible sales in California. If people took the time to google they would see this is fake news.

Of course not.

If you’re a fruit dealer and a customer asks for an apple, and you hand him a bruised, rotten one from the bottom of the barrel, you shouldn’t be offended if that customer says “but I want that nice shiny one on the top of the barrel”.

You’re doing yourself no service by citing crappy news sources. Or by reading them without your BS filter dialed to the max. Like they say, “Garbage in, garbage out!”

Fox news has been around for more then 20 years and is hosts to some of the most influential people on the planet along with nbc, abc and cbs, yes they all have their quirks once in a while but its obvious fox is credible and has been around longer then alot of these other stations. To say that Fox isnt credible is or must have a very biased and crappy pc agenda which dont compute with people that follow the bible and is against the worthless pc agenda.

I want that nice shiny apple on the top of the barrel, please.

I think there was a thread that already talked about this.

I think it’s horrible but obviously the same few “Catholic” users on this site will call it fake news so they can shut down any debate.
