These are the stories that Planned Parenthood never includes in their annual report. The victims get swept under the rug. No one will ever admit the young woman died of abortion. In all likelihood death will be attributed to toxic shock syndrome or some such politically correct label. So much for claims of “safe” abortions.
RIVERSIDE, California, June 21, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Erica Goode died of toxic shock syndrome at the age of 21 after an abortion at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Riverside, California. Her mother, Aletheia Meloncon, has filed a wrongful death and medical malpractice suit against the abortionist group…
Goode had gone for an abortion on January 31, 2007 but was taken to hospital after developing a fever. A laminaria and gauze had been inserted and Goode was expected back at Planned Parenthood the next day. But because Meloncon was not informed of her daughter’s intention to have an abortion, she was not able to inform hospital staff, so treatment was delayed.
The suit names the laminaria, a medical product meant to stretch the cervix preliminary to some types of abortion, as the conduit for the infection that killed Goode. She was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley on Feb. 4 and found to be 14 weeks pregnant. Goode miscarried her unborn child on February 13 and died the next day.
May God have mercy on the soul of Erica and the PP abortionist.

It just goes to show that it’s the procedure itself that is dangerous. Making it legal has not made it safe.

This is exactly why families need to be allowed to get involved in this things. California is also the same state that denies parents their right to know when their minor child is taking contraceptives or getting an abortion. I was in a huge debate over this in another forum. Sad, it is truly sad. May God have mercy on them and us all.

That is a bit scary. If a teenager wants an abortion, her parents should know. The most a parent would do is try to talk her out of it, that is not a bad thing and sometimes parents can be successful and save a life. If a teen was going to do it no matter what I can’t really see a parent beating her or abusing her(they will be sad and a bit angry, but won’t stop loving her), so whats the point of that law. It almost seems like they made the law to prevent parents from talking there child out of an abortion. At the very least there should be a parental consent form, there are less serious things that teens can do that must have parental consent forms.

Anyway I hope and pray that the mother is successful in court.

There is insult to add to mortal injury.

In state’s where the law allows abortionists go do their deed without informing parents of minor children, the laws still place the burden of medical costs for any complications on the parent.

So the parent has NO right to know what is going on, no right to say no, but MUST pay the costs of medical treatment required by complications. This poor mother is going to be hit with medical bills from the hospital.

The problem with this case is that the woman was 21 and even if parental consent was required she wouldn’t need it because she is considered an adult. However, it coud at least save some teens and possibly their babies.

As much as I hate the tired pro-abortion argument that notification laws promote abuse, there are some girls who would be beaten for getting pregnant. I would say those girls likely live in homes where they have been previously abused. That said, I think it imperative that parents be notified when their underage daughters are undergoing any proceedure, especially if they are planning to abort their unborn child.
