Call me not Naomi?

We use a book for the stations of the cross in which the words of Naomi from the first chapter of Ruth are placed on the lips of Mary: “Call me not Naomi (that is, beautiful), but call me Mara (that is, bitter), for the Almighty has afflicted me and has dealt quite bitterly with me.”
I’m just not sure if this sits right with me; it almost seems like it borders on being disrespectful.
Any thoughts? Thanks

That particular Station is trying to help us enter into Mary’s mindset as she stood at the foot of the cross. While Mary most certainly had great faith that doesn’t mean she perfectly understood what was happening. As Simeon had foretold, a sword of sorrow pierced her heart.
