"Call to follow the road to heaven" - Sister Lucia of Fatima

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Sister opens Chapter 22 by stating that “the whole of the Message is a call to follow the road to heaven, to walk in such a way as to succeed in attaining to eternal life.” Sister then continues to observe:

In the times in which we live there are even those who deny the existence of heaven, whether because they have no faith, or because they do not want to commit themselves to following the narrow path that leads to Heaven. But they are wrong. That Heaven exists is a revealed truth that cannot be denied…

Sister then quotes many passages from Scripture, before sharing Mary’s words to the children, when they asked the beautiful Lady where she was from, she replied: “I am from heaven”. In the prayer that the Lady taught them to say at the end of each decade of the Rosary, we ask God to “bring all souls to heaven.”… Sister continues:

The great concern of God and of Our Lady is that people should be saved and go to heaven; and since heaven is the dwelling place prepared by God for eternal life, unless we follow the road that leads to it, we shall never get there.

How many people today think about, seriously think about, following the road to heaven? Tomorrow’s Gospel for Sunday Mass is the Parable of the Sower and the Seed from Mt 13. It is also the Memorial of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.

Mary our Mother and our Model intercede for the Church that we may have “ears to hear”. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
O my Jesus, pardon us and save us from the fires of hell, draw all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy.
