I noticed from time to time some of you guys mentioned you were former Muslims. If you are would you mind sharing your stories about your backgrounds and how you came to reject Islam and embrace the True Religion (Christianity)? I love hearing these stories.
*
P.S. Since some of our Mohammedan warriors on this forum will no doubt attack your posts and try to malign your characters, if you don’t feel like “casting your pearls before swine lest they trample them underfoot” by posting in this thread, would you mind PMing me just sharing how you came to accept Christianity?*

Thank you! 😃
*
P.P.S. Just to make it clear because I’m sure someone will try it, this thread is NOT for people to tell about how they converted to Islam (cough AmericanRevert cough)!!*

According to Al-Jazeerah’s interview with Sheikh Ahmad Al Katani, the president of The Companions Lighthouse for the Science of Islamic Law in Libya, In every hour, 667 Muslims convert to Christianity.

Everyday, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity. Every year, 6 million Muslims convert to Christianity.

Americanrevert,

The OP is not being rude. He is simply asking a question. Many Muslims have come to embrace Christ and he wants to know their reasons for doing so.

There are scores of testimonials of Christians who have converted to Islam on Islamic websites. Why should this Catholic website be any different?

You find it rude because this is a subject that offends you. I know how Muslims feel about “apostates” (and what they do to them.)

He holds a grudge. Simple and means to spread rudeness around from it. That is totally unchristian like. and I am not offended personally, he doesn’t make me any the more the person I am or any less…he is just rude as if many people on here would admit~if they are honest, I have done nothing to him but he just is rude in return.

to each his own…you can leave my name out of your conversations if you don’t want my replies. You say you were gonna ignore and then lie about it and then continue to be mean… Someone has a hangup and it isn’t me.

Dear Psalter,

I am a former Muslim. 🙂

Could you please ask me specific questions about the reasons for my conversion? This is because the story of my conversion would take many threads if I wrote it in details. 😃

I have a question for Angelos or any other former Muslim: How did you come to understand the Trinity? It seems that no Muslims here truly understand it, since Islam calls it three Gods, includes Mary as one of its three, etc. I would think that these confusions would be a huge stumbling block to accepting Christianity, since it would seem that this central tenet is illogical from a Muslim viewpoint.

Angelos, I am curious what part of the world you are from and how you got away with “apostasizing” from Islam without being put in prison or killed?

I am of Bosnian origin, but not living in Bosnia now .🙂

Few Muslims know that I am a convert to Christianity because on my id card is still written Islam. Although I want to get it removed, my parents (I still live with them!) object to my decision fearing that such an act might incur the blunt aggression of some fanatical Muslims.

When I was a little Muslim kid, I was taught at school that Christians believed in a Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). When I had the chance to read the Koran in my mother tongue, I was surprised to see that what Islam denounced and refuted as the Christian Trinity had nothing to do with the genuine Christian Trinity.

There was something wrong with the way the Islamic scripture presented the Trinitarian doctine for the pure sake of denying it. The Christian Trinity, according to the Koran, was physical in essence with sexual implications. It is not difficult to guess that the writers of the Koran deliberately twisted the Christian Trinitarian doctrine in order to adapt it to Meccan paganism and disqualify Christianity as a false religion not different from the traditional pagan beliefs.

When I studied the true Christian Trinity, the analogy of the notion of time became very helpful (present, past, future dimensions). Believing in the persons of the Triune God was not a difficult issue for me. God’s Wisdom and Love were uncreated and eternal, which meant that these two attributes co-existed with the one and true God as distinct yet equal persons sharing the same essence and nature.

Thanks for answering my question, Angelos. I wish all Muslims would receive an honest education in what Christianity believes as you did when you were a Muslim.

Might I add that I am so happy that you have entered Christianity. I have a few Bosniak friends, and each one is a staunch atheist. A friend of mine who recently went back to visit her extended family for the first time since she and her immediate fled from the war told me that now most of her family (who are all Bosniaks) have converted to Christianity, and spent much time trying without success to share with her the good news! Well, that and asking her for money, since she’s a rich westerner now… 😉

No, I believe that rolling pearls was the rudeness.

It is a verse from the Bible. I can see where it might seem offensive but I would hope it was not meant that way.
**Yes, sure it was pointing to the muslims here that if the reverts do not like to roll pearls before the swines then they can send a Pm and not post on the forum. I hope you understand the implication.

We understand the wise words of Jesus as it is mentioned in the bible. But the use of similie here was rude. That was good of you to take notice. What do you say now?**
