If you’re supportive (like, 100%) of the SSPX could you please PM me and let me know who you are. I get some questions off and on but don’t want to start a fights here. Thank you.

I’ve never been shy of my 100 percent support of the Society. I thank God every day for leading me to one of the few bastions of Religion left in the world.

I’ve never been a member of the SSPX, but I’ll say that like many Latin Mass Catholics, I strongly sympathise with them. If the Latin Mass was not readily available in my area, I’m pretty certain I would join them. We Latin Trads have more in common with the SSPX then we do with 95pct or more of those within the Catholic Church.

I’ve posted often enough in defense of the SSPX --so I don’t believe anyone is confused as to where I stand.

Mixed feelings on the consecrations, but I strongly sympathize with the SSPX (and those who attend its Masses). Without a doubt, the SSPX has been a light in the darkness for many.

I’m not deeply familiar with the SSPX only having read some introductory stuff concerning them. But I liked what I did see and do count myself as highly sympathetic.

Does your 95% include Eastern Catholiics, who are VERY traditional?

If you feel closer to the Orthodox, and reject teachings like Papal Infallibilty, then yes I’d put you with the 95pct. I have however met Eastern Catholics who do not fit that description and who I feel closer to than the vast majority of RC’s.

Coming out of lurking mode to raise my hand as in 100% support of the SSPX:)

I don’t go to a SSPX chapel, but I’ve come to cheer for them. I’m like 40% SSPX.

I obey the Roman Pontiff and I want to die that way, but if he told us that all thing SSPX are lagit then I’m there baby:D 🙂 😉 👍 But until then I will remain with the seat of St. Peter.
St. Pete’s got the seat, I’m at his feet.

Ditto.

It has always been my personal belief that reconcilliation between the Church and the SSPX would occur eventually. I have followed the Society’s history over the past forty years and admire their courage and fortitude. It also has been my personal belief that, once reconciled, the Society has the potential for being the new Jesuit order.

I like the sound of that. dreamy eyes
I pray for it daily LML. Growing up in the pre-Vatican II Church it has saddened me greatly to see the demise of this once great teaching order. I am hopeful the SSPX (together with the FSSP) can step in and fill the void. Our children and grandchildren would have the chance of receiving a truly Catholic education.

I am an Eastern Rite Catholic from Romania, but I am 100 % with the Society. I see in all the four FSSPX bishops a hope for a world striving to live in the faith of our God and ancestors. Thanks to the Paraclet, thanks to our holy Father and thanks to Mgr Fellay and Co, I am more optimist than I was in the last 10 years regarding the strenghthening of our catholic faith.

Would like to know more about the SSPX but based on what I do know they get my full heartfelt support and are owed an engraved apology. We have primarily them to thank for the Pope’s MP. I look forward to seeing them straighten out the Church even more in coming years. In the future we may find this particular Society adhered more strongly than any to the teachings and Sacred Traditions of the Church. They should be lauded for their perserverance under the worst of circumstances. They continue to rise above in a humble fashion. As for their criticism of VII, based on their arguments I believe they are 100% correct, as Paul was with Peter. To borrow from St.John the Baptist, Lefebvre must increase, Bugnini must decrease.

Jube, Domine, benedicere. Archbishop Lefebvre, gratias tibi ago et requiescat in pace.

Does anybody know how SSPX recieves new members?

For example, if an unbaptized person comes to them and wants to join, must he go thru RCIA just like in the ordinary RCC, or do they make it quicker?

The reason i am asking is because of the two swedish priests who chosed to convert at SSPX, one of them started with classes at our diocese in Stockholm but later he broke it and joined SSPX instead.

Here is what Bishop Anders Arborelius of Stockholm Sweden had to say about this story:
As a Convert (I was recieved into the Church in 1979 by Monsignore Bernhard Maria Koch) I have myself recieved many Converts into the Church, and every year in my Diocese several Lutheran ecclesiastics, both male and female, become Catholic.
I had entrusted a very faithful and pious priest, the Rev. Dr. Ingvar Fogelqvist, with the task of giving Pastor Sten Sandmark instructions in Catholic doctrine in order to prepare him for his reception into the Church. It is important to prepare the Lutheran ecclesiastics well, or else the danger of their return to Lutheranism exists, something which unfortunately also happens.
After some time, Rev. Fogelqvist has told me, that Sten Sendmark could or would no longer participate in the instructions. He did not inform Rev. Fogelqvist about his absence. Later we got the message that he wanted to convert at the SSPX in Paris, which he then did.
Here in sweden they delay a lot for recieving somebody into the church, God has plenty of time they say.

It can take 3 years or more if somebody wants to convert or getting baptized.

Is there any difference at the SSPX, as the catechumenate was brought back again at VII, what is SSPX view about it?

I experienced some of your friendliness first hand when I said I liked to have the priest face me during the consecration

It was underwhelming…I never tried to push my views on anyone and I was respectful of others opinions:confused:

In response to the original poster, I am 100% behind the SSPX. I also attend a SSPX chapel which is very excellent and solid. The reason I try not to make this known very often is because I am Catholic and by drawing attention to where I attend Mass, I get the feeling that other Catholics (including traditionalists) tend to get too obsessed over the distinctions and loose sight of the fact that people who attend Mass at the SSPX chapels are not “Lefebrists” or “SSPX’ers” but plain, ordinary Catholics.

Feel free to PM me with any questions, and I will attempt to answer them as best I can. 😉
