Thanks. The charges were almost filed, but they decided to wait on the appeals process, which is ongoing. Yesterday Praise God we found out that the child recanted the story, but that doesn’t mean the authorities will reverse the finding. We shall see.

I wanted to clarify a frustration I had in my previous post. God is said to equip the called, right? So if He calls us to something, He makes a way for us to be able to do it, right? So how can He be calling me to motherhood yet not provide me with a way to become a mother? That doesn’t make any sense.
In many parishes the priest gives a blessing on Mothers’ Day to all the mothers in the congregation. That blessing is extended not just to mothers of families, but also godmothers, teachers, medics, community leaders and all others who in some way played a mothering role in the lives of others.

Mother is not just who you are but also what you do.

Please don’t hesitate to seek every avenue to have his records expunged – not only because it puts you out of adoption, but for the future. This is not an accusation that you want to remain to be found in the future.

As for callings – I’m certainly no expert. I don’t know what God’s will is in that you have children. Since you have spoken with a priest on the matter, have you discussed the matter of discernment on calling? I can’t say what will happen in the future, and pray that the two embryos sucessfully come to term, but God may be calling you in other ways too. You feel a call but only you can discern God’s message, with the help and guidance of your priest.

God Bless you both. I pray for a successful resolution, both for your husband and for your needs.

Mother Teresa used to say: God did not call me to be successful. God called me to be faithful.

God does not guarantee that he will use every Catholic marriage the same way. Rather, it is only true that all Catholic marriages share the call to be unfailingly open to any of the goods of marriage that it may please God to send.

Be the steward of the goods of marriage that God grants you, and do not worry that you are doing anything wrong if your fidelity does not lead to outward “success.” It is the fidelity that fits you for heaven. The results of your fidelity are the gift God gives to you, not the other way around.

Defending your DH against the charges is no more than defending the truth. Be faithful in defending the truth, but have no fear about results. Do your best, but remember, too, that the world was saved because of the transformation God brought about after evil got the truth crucified and hung up as a falsehood. We have martryrs because the world sometimes sees fit to crucify the truth, even after the Resurrection defeated death and falsehood. In the end, all truths will be seen in their true color when the true Judgement comes. Live your life to be ready for that day, and give the rest to God.

God gives life, to some of us He also allows suffering. You can very much be called to marriage and be allowed to suffer through infertility.

My kids are gone to University and working.
I am going to retire soon. I dedicate my time creating Projects what are needed in society. I have created already 4 Projects.
But another work of mine is to help girls in foster care (do you call that?). They are girls who have no family or have a dysfunctional family and they need a father figure, so I go there and help them.
I offered myself to a similar House for boys but they did not call me.
I offered myself to go to prison, but there was not need for it.
These are currently not options for the OP and her husband due to the situation.

I know that it is sad when people want children and can’t have them.

I agree with the idea of babysitting for friends who need to get away from their children for an evening (or a weekend). After you’ve spent a night listening to a couple of screaming children who refuse to go to bed, you might get a temporary “vacation” from your feelings. Some children scream and cry at the top of their voices all night, hour after hour. They can really turn a person into a basket case. It’s also possible that they’ll throw up all over the sheets, and you’ll spend half the night stuffing the washing machine and making beds, only to have them throw up again. You will probably be so happy when the parents finally come home, that you’ll want to hug them!

People with no children have a lot of freedom. They can both have jobs without worrying about child care expenses wiping out most of one salary. They can go on relaxing vacations and weekend trips. They don’t have to worry about birth control.

I think it might be a good idea just to relax and enjoy your life. You might find yourself pregnant when you least expect it!
