Can a Catholic attend a Baptist church service?

My husband (Catholic) attended a Baptist church service with his son (Baptist) because his son wanted him to be there. His son was going through an emotional crisis. What is the Church’s teaching on attending a Baptist church service. Is confession necessary afterward?
