Can a Catholic attend a Gay "marriage"?

My nephew whom I love and have a good relationship with, is gay and engaged to be “married” to his long-time partner next Fall. I have been invited to the wedding. My sister and I are very close and this family has undergone so much tragedy with the loss of 2 of their other children. Can I as a devout Catholic ( no one else in the family is Catholic) attend this wedding? I want to do the loving thing and not hurt anyone but I also do not want to offend God. Help!
