May a family member attend the marriage of a Catholic who is marrying outside of the Church? My answer is an outright no but I would like the views of an apologist. This is very important to me and to others in my parish who often are faced with this problem. A priest (then pastor) at the most liberal parish in this diocese told a family member that she could attend the wedding of her sister who was marrying before a judge.
