You are right, people are going to do what they want. This is the essence of the gospel - it is a choice to love God or a choice not to. Catholics can choose against God in their actions as well. But please don’t say that you respect every person of faith’s opinion because you don’t. You don’t fully respect the Catholic opinion, which of course is your right. But you should realize that you are judging certain Catholics for intolerance and for following a “book,” while you yourself are intolerant of people who do choose to follow what the Church teaches, and essentially you follow your own opinion which is more than likely formed in a mind that has only been conscious for at most one hundred years.I respect ever person of faiths opinion, beliefs and faith (of all religions and my Religion) because I worship too, but I agree when you say, that they have to open their eyes and see that a book doesn’t dictate what goes on in this world. People are going to do what they want, and NEVER ever use a book to dictate someone elses life and choices.
You have the right to your choice, but I don’t have to “get over it,” nor “MUST” I respect it. I do not respect the opinion that Jews should have been exterminated in the holocaust, or that eugenics is acceptable. I am so thankful that people didn’t just “get over it” when black people were enslaved in the South and continue to respect the “rights” of southern slave owners to hold human beings in bondage because that was their own personal belief. Truth is not a subjective thing, but everyone has a choice whether or not to accept it.Respect eachothers faith, but NEVER try to impress your own faith onto someone else. Basically, if I support homosexuality or abortion and you dont, get over it, I still respect your belief and you MUST respect mine.
