Can a Catholic ever go to a Protestant service?

If a Catholic has gone to Holy Mass and fulfilled his/her Sunday obligation, is it alright if they go to a Protestant service as well later on if they are invited in good faith by a friend to go who has no ulterior motives, but is simply extending their hand in friendship?:confused:
