My daughter has cancer and will undergo aggressive chemotherapy. The doctors suggested harvesting her eggs so that she could conceive with her husband at a later date. Is this acceptable for a Catholic?
I’m sorry, but no. The only way to use the eggs later would be through in-vitro fertilization and/or use of a surrogate mother, both of which are moral evils that the Church condemns. For more information I recommend contacting the National Catholic Bioethics Center.
