I’m a Catholic with a Master’s in Theological Studies. I’m not a priest, but I’ve been having difficulty finding work. Would it be permissible to become an ordained minister through another denomination or as a justice of the peace, etc., and marry couples who aren’t Catholic? It wouldn’t just be for the money, of course, but to celebrate a valid (but non-Catholic) wedding. If this isn’t permissible, then I certainly understand, but I’d like to know for sure. Thanks!
