Can a Catholic marry an atheist in church?

My boyfriend and I are discussing marriage and I am not sure if we will be allowed to get married in a church. My aunt (Catholic) and uncle (Jewish) were not allowed to get married in the church, but that was back in the 70s and I’m not sure if the rules have changed or if they had some kind of weird circumstances. Anyway, my boyfriend was raised Catholic but right before confirmation he decided that he was an atheist. I, on the other hand, am an active Catholic, and I want to be married by a priest in a church so that it counts in the eyes of God. He says he’s willing to participate in a non-Mass ceremony at the church if we can … so, do you know if it is allowed?
 
Yes, it’s allowed. Speak to your pastor to discuss the matter and the related issues surrounding it (e.g., raising children in the faith).
