Can a chalice become a ciiborium?

Could a chalice possibly be made into a ciborium during the mass?
 
As far as I know there is no prohibition against using an extra chalice as a ciborium if there are no ciborii available, and I don’t see why there would be. Not the most likely situation to happen though.
 
It sometimes happens on chapels under a parish here or when the other ciborium is being repaired.
