My friend was married in a Catholic church but divorced some years ago, when she was lapsed. While she did have a relationship after her divorce, this has now ended and she is now single and chaste.and has re-found her Catholic faith.
She has confessed her previous trangressions, but still feels unable to receive Holy Communion. Given that she has received absolution, does the fact that she is divorced mean that she is right in abstaining, or , provided of course that she remains chaste, is she being over-scrupulous in denying herself Holy Communion?
