In our parish we are blessed to have Eucharistic Adoration on a weekly basis. On rare occasion the Decon is not available to expose or to repose the Blessed Sacrement, and this is done by the EM. When the Decon does this he is vested and uses a shawl (sp) or mantle. The Em does not. So, my question is, should the EM vest or not. My thoughts are that he should not because he is not ordained. What are your thoughts?

For simple exposition they should wear an alb or cassock and surpluce but it is not strictly necessary.
