It is not easy to be different from others, or to have others make fun of you, but would you rather descend to the level of those who lead lives you know to be immoral and who harrass others, just so you can fit in? Rather, you should see this as a challenge to be the best person you can be and to make your school safer for others who believe as you do. Report harrassment to your parents, your teacher, your counselor, and to anyone else in authority who needs to know that Catholics in your school are being bullied because of their religious beliefs. Cultivate friends through your parish or a diocesan youth group so you can surround yourself with a better set of friends. Meditate on the lives of young saints such as St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Maria Goretti, St. Dominic Savio, Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, and others for inspiration.
