Brotherly love. It’s pretty much a standard concept. That love between men was viewed positively?

Which is why they referred to the ceremony as a wedding and had a striking resemblance to marriage?Brotherly love. It’s pretty much a standard concept.
You’re still not making your case. Unless it was sexual in nature, it was just friendship. As we just found out, sexuality is the only quality by which a relationship may be considered homosexual.Which is why they referred to the ceremony as a wedding and had a striking resemblance to marriage?
The word friendship can not describe it adequately, the relationship was in a way a cross between spouse and friendYou’re still not making your case. Were they committing sexual acts? If not, you are not talking about anything but friendship no matter how intense you make it out to be, and if so, then they were committing disordered acts. The word friendship can not describe it adequately, the relationship was in a way a cross between spouse and friend
You see the world in either black or white, no grey, while technically have have successfully segregated them you’ve done so in a way that renders the results worthless. Were they committing sexual acts? Our trials make us stronger.
In the Middle Ages affection and love between men was looked upon positively, why is it bad now?

There is a growing body of material? That is not proof of anything. The only reason you see women that act and look like men and men who look and act like women is they had a father that didn’t affirm for the man his masculinity and the women her feminity. Fathers are extremely important in the development of their childrens sexuality. There is plenty of evidence in this case. So we need strong christian fathers. Look where most of them are if they are not married. Not taking care of anybody, but themselves. As you have decided in advance that the various medical and scientific studies done are as you put it “methodologically and ethically flawed” then it would seem that you are unwilling to admit any evidence you consider might challenge your assumptions. Nonetheless, there is a growing body of material which suggests that the brains of male homosexuals function more like those of heterosexual women, with the reverse being true for lesbians. Hence, it would seem that homosexual persons possess qualities characteristic of both their own and the opposite sex, and hence do have different qualities from their heterosexual counterparts. This in itself raises a larger question of what constitutes male and female qualities, and the various degrees thereof. At the same time, human nature itself only admits of degree in it’s differences, so all humans are going to possess certain qualities and characteristics in vary degrees. No individual can possess a quality totally distinct in kind from another human being, but the degree can be so great as to allow us to speak of people who possess different qualities.
Yes trials make us stronger. I am talking about preventing it. If it has already happened their is still help. If you read any of the books on preventing it, you would understand that you wouldn’t want your little boy to have that struggle, if you are the father and you could prevent it. There are plenty of other trials people could got through, but that my friend, if you could read all the posts of the mothers, fathers, sisters, daughters, on the encourage line, you would understand what I am talking about and want to prevent it. So much pain. Strong and present fathers who affirm their sons is what they need and strong fathers to affirm a womens femininity as well. Fathers are very important to both sons and daughters to help form their sexuality. Almost in every case this is a major factor along with some other factors that contribute to this. Our trials make us stronger.

In other words you cannot make your argument without violating the law of identity. That is not a function of me or my thought processes it’s a function of logic. They are different things and your attempt to conflate them violates the basic rules of logic. You see the world in either black or white, no grey, while technically have have successfully segregated them you’ve done so in a way that renders the results worthless.
Hey, something we pretty much agree upon. There is a growing body of material? That is not proof of anything. I am not saying all, but you get my point I hope looking at the divorce rate. It is not biological, it is enviromental. Back in the sixties it was feminism that started this whole mess, that women should be more like men and they should be the men of the house. Look where we are now, isn’t that enough evidence? Today it’s all about sex. That’s is why it’s about the sex we are having that makes us a heterosexual or a homosexual…
I don’t think it is any more of a cross to bear than unmarried heterosexuals have.An inclination or same sex attraction and someone who does not want to act on it makes that person carry a heavy cross…
Yes. I knew someone that was homosexual and moved to California due to a career opportunity. Years later, he returned home and was happily married to a woman. I was shocked and so was his family
No one is born a homosexual or lesbian,It is a choice made. You get right down to it it is a sin of lust.
No I disagree. It is more of a cross, and the church agrees. He or she is actual victim soul living a chaste life, because they have the disordered attraction. Being as both things are equal, both have to restrain from sexual activities if not married is true and that’s hard, but the SSA person came to that place from much pain that is not going to change. The heterosexual man let’s say came from a family that had no serious problems and if they did, if they don’t have the SSA, can get married and still please God. That trial of celibacy would be over. But a SSA person does feel attraction to the same sex, that they did not choose, now they have the extra cross. Some even have been more bullied, rejected as children and some molested.Hey, something we pretty much agree upon.
I don’t think it is any more of a cross to bear than unmarried heterosexuals have.
Ok.No I disagree…
Not really. I don’t believe that people “suffer” SSA any more than I “suffer” from a desire to bed the Marchant twins. I will also never bed Rihanna, Sofia Vergara, or the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. They are all disordered desires that cannot be fulfilled within the bounds of sexual morality. There is nothing more to the matter than sex and the choices one makes in regard to it. One does not “suffer” because their preferred disordered activity is unobtainable.… Do you see my point? …

One person mistaken about their sexual orientation does not prove that only one sexual orientation exists, with all others being nothing but inexplicably bad choices.
Yes.I don’t think so.
I am right handed. If someone convinced me that only left handed people get into Heaven, then I could, with practice, training and prayer, become as dextrous with my left hand as with my right, and from then on, only use my left hand as the dominant hand.
But I would still be right handed.
Let’s be a little more charitable. You don’t have disordered desires only, but a mixture of disordered and ordered desires. Imagine that you cannot even make yourself the least bit interested in being legitimately married to just one single Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, in fact the whole group of them make you yawn (except perhaps to be impressed by whoever designed their outfits), and instead have you eyes for the Dallas Cowboys running back. Wanna tell your football-fan buddies how your desires differ from theirs? Wanna trade your so-called “suffering” for that? I somehow doubt it.Not really. Excuse me? Exactly how is it uncharitable to state ones opinion? You may not agree with it but it is hardly uncharitable.Let’s be a little more charitable.
I have heard that very same claim by homosexuals who have fathered children. Obviously, the existence of such a state is highly dubious. You don’t have disordered desires only, but a mixture of disordered and ordered desires. Imagine that you cannot even make yourself the least bit interested in being legitimately married to just one single Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, in fact the whole group of them make you yawn
Stereotyping people isn’t helpful.(except perhaps to be impressed by whoever designed their outfits),
