Ave, fellow countryman. 🙂

The best place to start would be to contact the local Diocesan Family Commission, which will usually be near the Bishop’s house. They generally conduct “Marriage Preparation Courses” in both English and the vernacular. Ask the priest in charge there for details, and he will guide you. 🙂

Prayers and best wishes for your upcoming marriage. 👍

What does CSI stand for? I’m assuming not Crime Scene Investigation. 🙂

That’s also how I first read “CSI,” but from what I see here, I’m guessing the Church of South India, which is what is called a united church.

The Church of South India is the result of the union of churches of varying traditions Anglican, Methodist, Congregational, Presbyterian, and Reformed. It was inaugurated in September 1947, after protracted negotiation among the churches concerned.

Since the thread title indicates the OP is a Latin, and if “CSI” refers to some sort of Protestant denomination, I really don’t see why this thread is in the EC forum.

Yes. The CSI (Church of South India) is the equivalent to the Anglican and Episcopalian churches in South India (duh) 🙂 The equivalent further up is the CNI (Church of North India).

With permission it is possible for a Catholic to marry a non-Catholic Christian, but of course if she converts (is received into full communion with the Catholic Church) first, it will be Catholic-Catholic.

My guess is that the OP thinks “Eastern Catholics” are Roman Catholics that reside in Eastern countries.

As to the CSI, they are barely hanging on to the Anglican moniker. The “united church” model they employ never had the need to “ordain” the previously titled ministries, but were accepted as the “Anglican” branch in southern India by the Anglican Communion, while never renouncing it’s claims to Presbyterianism, Congregationalism, or any of the other sects it merged from. They are functionally spread like the Anglican Communion itself - a mix of everything from high church to low-church (e.g. Sydney) and everything in between, including female ministers and same-sex blessings.
