I found myself in a Trinidad prison for four days and nights, and I had a yearning to consecrate the bread and give out Communion to my fellow inmates. Is this possible?
No. Only a validly-ordained priest can confect the Eucharist. For a Catholic layman to attempt to do so, however well-meaning he may be, constitutes objective sacrilege.
