I have a question regarding confession. In the Lutheran faith, they do have private confessions with their pastor and according to their beliefs, the pastor does absolve them of their sins. My question is, if I am in a state of mortal sin and I confess them to the Lutheran pastor and am absolved from my sins, would that clear the path for me to take communion? I know you can’t take communion in a state of mortal sin.
