can a marriage be celebrated during advent?

my sister-in- law is wanting to get married here in Fiji and the only available opening in her calendar is during advent whereby she will be able to come down to Fiji from Brisbane, Australia. Will she be able to marry in the church during this period?
 
Yes, weddings may take place during Advent but there are a few things to keep in mind:
  1. Advent is a penitential season. Masses during Advent should reflect that and thus might need to be “toned down” a bit.
  2. On Sundays of Advent there can be no ritual Mass. That means if a wedding is to take place on a Sunday in Advent that the Mass is the Mass of the day (readings & prayers) and not to the wedding Mass. It would simply be a Sunday of Advent Mass with the couple exchanging their vows during the Mass.
