On the contrary, God would be greatly pleased with their sacrifice of prayer.
What are the chances that Catholic Honeymooners are THAT devout? Even I wouldn’t go that far, I’m Catholic, my parents before me were Catholic, they’ve come to discover alot of things that just doesn’t sit right with them with certain Catholic rules.

I find it unrealistic to expect such a sacrifice.

Which you and your parents, by virtue of free will, have the ability to follow or ignore. But make no mistake, there is objective morality, and objective punishment that follows from violation of that morality. What the Church teaches now, She has taught yesterday, and will teach every day after. The Church will not rescind the moratorium on contraception, and in fact, in the face of growing dissention and dissidence, I woulnd’t be shocked to see an ex cathedra bull on the subject.

How have you tried? A honeymoon in Fiji lasts a week. True love in a marriage lasts a lifetime. Maybe the fruit of that honeymoon would be a baby! Your parents may have rejected Catholic teaching, but I believe they are like millions of others who reject this beautiful teaching. They know WHAT it is but they do not know WHY it is and they have no idea that it can be lived by normal human beings.

Of course, those “normal” human beings must be mature enough to work together and with nature in a proactive way. Total abandonment to one’s desires is not going to work.

And good luck to all those Catholic newlyweds. They’ll need it. Gosh forbid their honeymoon night in Fiji or Hawaii falls on a fertile time.
I guess the Church assumes that if they have just finished making a vow to be open to children, that they meant what they said, and that they are open to children, including any that come to them on their honeymoon.

There is no law that says people have to wait a year before getting pregnant.

Why? They can sit on the beach with a bottle of wine under a full moon and read Christopher West aloud to each other. It doesn’t get any better.
