No, Mormons recognize civil marriages too. They would consider a Catholic wedding to be a civil wedding only - legally valid, but inferior since it is until death, and not for eternity as they believe a Mormon temple marriage is. Mormons who are not “temple-worthy” often are married by their bishop in the local ward chapel. It is also until death, and is considered an inferior marriage, but sufficient to be legal and proper.
