My former wife and I are both Catholic. We have a 6-year-old son and are to have him baptized. The question: Can the godfather be Catholic and the godmother be a non-Catholic Christian?
If the non-Catholic Christian is Eastern Orthodox, yes, so long as there is also a Catholic godparent. Otherwise, no. However, the non-Catholic Christian may be asked to be a Christian witness to the baptism, so long as there is a Catholic godparent.
