Can a non-Catholic Christian enter heaven after death? Or will they be ending up at purgatory first?

As usual, the opinions of tgGodsway are not Catholic teaching and reflect some Protestant point of view that is not in accord with the Church.

The true teaching of the Catholic church is that there is no salvation outside of the Catholic church. It’s Infallible doctrine so we know it’s true and due to the indefectability of the church, we know that cannot change. However, due to God’s mercy we can hope that non Catholics may be considered extremely ignorant of the truth.

A few things.
With God, all things are possible.
Keep always in mind, James, and the Judgement of Mercy.
And as, Catholics, we are free to pray for the salvation of every soul. So do that!
The rest is in God’s hands.

There is a lot of doctrine. Lots of Saints over 2k years. Lots of things written and said. Your myopic summary is yours but I don’t see much hope or mercy in it.

This is an extremely oversimplified view of the actual Catechism teaching. I would suggest you read the current official catechism so you understand that the possibility of heaven is not only available to the ignorant. Otherwise, you are basically embracing Feeneyism.

Feeneyism declared that there was no salvation for those who are not validly baptized. That can’t be true as then there would be no hope for anyone who was never validly exposed to Catholicism. That’s where the example of extreme ignorance comes into play. Nowadays, especially in first world countries, that situation seems very small. Just about any protestant has the ability to look up Catholic teaching and information and most have the free will to accept it. Granted, there are some extreme situations where acceptance might not be possible, but if one chooses not to accept it on their own free will . . . .

That’s not all that Feeneyism said. Like I said, I’d suggest you read the Catechism.

“Ignorance” does not require that a Protestant never hear of a Catholic Church or never have a chance to look up Catholic teaching. There are also many ways (discussed in the Catechism) that Protestants can be in communion with the Church, including receiving sacraments such as Trinitarian baptism, and matrimony if done in the Church.

An author medical doctor who had a NDE who wrote a book 7 lessons from heaven . describes what occurred . it is interesting to read the differences of opinion .

Feeneyism fails to afford God’s salvation through God’s sanctifying grace. Feeney basically decided for God. But that is a different subject. I hope!
In terms of your restrictive ideas of salvation, they conflict with , the " father of fathers" Gregory", and many others. GOD WILL BE ALL IN ALL was written by someone named Paul.

Yes, just to clarify, I am NOT the one with the restrictive ideas on salvation. That would be Bataar, whom I was responding to.

My husband was a Protestant and died a Protestant, and I have great faith and trust in God that he was saved.

My mistake. I will get the hang of this. Lol
I agree with you about feeneyism being implicated.
