I’m a Lutheran, converting to Catholicism, and was troubled by my experience after mass. Today I went to mass, and asked the priest afterwards if he could hear my confession.
After I confessed, he stated that I couldn’t be absolved because I wasn’t Catholic. Is this true? It seems pretty cruel to tell someone that, if they are sincere about it.
I’m in the military, and am going out on deployment in a couple of days, and wanted to recieve this sacrament, but was denied. I might not come home b/c I’m going to a warzone, and this priest is telling me that he won’t absolve me b/c I have to wait until I finish RCIA? Any assistance will help greatly with my toubled soul.
