Can a non-Catholic pray to saints?

I like the idea of praying “to” saints, although I prefer to call it “inviting saints to pray WITH me”, and admire many Catholic saints. Yet, I am not Catholic. Is it disrespectful for a non-Catholic to invoke the name of a Catholic saint in prayer?
