The Canon says that there can be a Christian witness (in addition to a Confirmed Catholic godparent) for someone being baptized. Does this apply to me, an uncomfirmed Catholic (but will be Easter Vigil), as well? The deacon I asked says no.

phonemic,

This link has the canon law which covers who is eligible to fill the role of godparent or of Christian witness to a Catholic Baptism. The last point, canon 874 §2, should help you understand the deacon’s answer.
