Can a parent force children to be confirmed?

A mother, who had fallen away from the Catholic Faith, realized she had made a grave error and brought teenage children to RCIA. All had been baptized in the Catholic Church but for the last 10 yrs had attended a nondenominational church. They come every week to RCIA and go to the Wed youth group in our parish. The oldest is resistant to the change.
