Can a person who is divorced and widowed remarry?

Suppose a person gets a divorce. Then that person is still married in the eyes of the Church. Is this understanding correct?

But now suppose that some time later the (ex) spouse of that person dies.

The person is no longer married in the eyes of the Church, as you can’t be married to a dead person.

Can that person now be fully received back into the church and even remarry?
 
Why would such a person need to be “fully received back into the Church”? Divorce itself doesn’t separate a person from the Church. Such an individual as you described could remarry in the Church.
 
Divorce doesn’t remove someone from the church. Having sexual relations with a person other than your spouse creates a separation due to sin (adultery).

Once the first spouse dies, the marriage is completed (“till death do us part…”) and the formerly married person is free to marry again.

If they had been in a physically intimate relationship with another person prior to the 1st spouses death, they would need the sacrament of reconciliation.

Yes, the person can remarry in the Church, since the marital bond is no longer there.
 
I am a recent convert, last Easter. Was married 35 years ago to a wonderful wife who divorced her husband because he had other partners “girl friends”.

I went to confession and was forgiven and Blessed. Then as luck would have it we were able to be married in the Church on our 35 anniversary. Or in other words our marriage was blessed.

Oh, I forgot to say, her former “husband??” had passed away.

We now live happy ever after except when my sugar gets to low! LOL
