Can a priest deny an infant baptism?

I called my local church to arrange baptism for my baby. Since my husband and I are not registered in the parish and were not married in the Catholic Church, they said we are required to meet with the priest prior to setting a date for the baptism. What can I expect at this meeting? Can the priest deny my baby baptism?

If the priest believes that you and your husband are either unable or unwilling to raise the child in the Catholic faith, he can defer baptism until a more appropriate time when the two of you are better prepared to meet the religious requirements of baptism. If this priest does choose to defer baptism, he’ll let you know and you can then ask him what you and your husband need to do to demonstrate your ability and willingness to raise your child Catholic.
