Can a priest stop in the middle of Mass?

Bless you, az 4 faith!

I just hope I can get it published.

It’s my personal opinion that we could use some more Catholic novels, not deep “literary novels” that the average person doesn’t understand, but stories that keep you on the edge of your seat or make you shrivel up in the bathtub because you can’t bear to stop reading!

I’m also trying to write this novel as an “alternative” to Da Vinci Code. Everyone, including me, gripes about it. I say, let’s write our own thrilling page turners and make them as accurate as DVC was inaccurate. That’s why I needed the answer to this question, and I will talk to our priests.

It’s a Rosary mystery, BTW, in case anyone’s wondering.

Thanks again for all the (name removed by moderator)ut, everyone. Interesting stuff.
I’ve read Bud McFarlane’s novels “Pierced by a Sword” and “Conceived Without Sin” to myself twice, and out loud to my husband once. I couldn’t put either down, and I keep copies of both close by to give to friends looking for a good AUTHENTIC read.

I agree, not enough out there.

Interesting use of the words “rosary” and “mystery”, eh?

Put me down for a 1st edition.

MusicMan, write one, and make it a musical!

My daughter the theater professional tells me that her former boyfriend, the Broadway theater professional tells her that Broadway is DYING for new material!

“SuperVicar!” Go for it! It sounds hilarious! I’d go see it! It would be even better with a convent of nuns and monks with mutant powers.

Who would the villain be?

Oh dear, if I did that, there would be those who would be offended thinking I was being anti-Catholic. Alas, my skills and interests in music do not include composition, so there won’t be any musicals about vicars with superpowers coming from me anytime soon.

When Joss Wheadon’s vampire shows were on, I once thought of an idea for a story of a special order of priests whose sole duty was to protect the world from vampires. Never got around to writing it. When you put your hypothetical up, I immediately thought of that, and that you were headed somewhere in that direction.

I don’t have the foggiest if you’re a published author or not, but if you get your story published, I’d love to read it.
