Can a priest tell the Pope what was said in confession?

Can the Pope or a bishop ask a priest about details heard during confession? And is a priest obliged to answer? In other words, does a vow of obedience trump the secrecy of confession?
 
The seal of the confessional is absolute. A priest cannot tell anyone what was said in the confessional, including a bishop or a pope.
