I always see televised mass’s on Sunday morning, and I mean lots, all morning… Would watching and listening to the sermon be the same as actually going to church. (without the eucharist of course)

if some weekends are making it difficult to actually make it to mass would it be appropriate to substitue it for a televised mass.
If not, why are they always on sunday morning, when we should be at mass?

Dear Steven,

In a word, no. Such Masses are primarily for shut-ins. They can be a help in prayer for anyone. But one must be present in Church to fulfill our Sunday obligation.

Merry Christmas!
