Can a widowed deacon date?

Can a widowed deacon take a date or lady friend to social engagements? Is it wrong for a widowed deacon to pursue female companionship?
 
I assume you’re referring to a Catholic deacon. If so, a Catholic deacon whose wife predeceases him is thereafter bound to the discipline of celibacy and may not pursue any kind of romantic relationship whatsoever.
