Muslims have been brainwashed to think that they can’t be children of God too because that somehow means you saying you are a deity, because Christians have made it seem that God somehow had some sex with Mary and produced the demigod Jesus for Him to be as a son.
FaithofAbraham, the Qur’an does say that Allah has no children; therefore, the Muslims do not call themselves “children of God” because the Qur’an speficially says that Allah has no children. To go against this is to go against the Qur’an
Sura 4:171 …Allah is only one God; far be It from His glory that He should have a son, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His, and Allah is sufficient for a Protector
Sura 5:18 And the Jews and the Christians say: We are the sons of Allah and His beloved ones. Say: Why does He then chastise you for your faults? Nay, you are mortals from among those whom He has created, He forgives whom He pleases and chastises whom He pleases; and Allah’s is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and to Him is the eventual coming.
Sura 6.100-101 And they make the jinn associates with Allah, while He created them, and they falsely attribute to Him sons and daughters without knowledge; glory be to Him, and highly exalted is He above what they ascribe (to Him). Wonderful Originator of the heavens and the earth! How could He have a son when He has no consort, and He (Himself) created everything, and He is the Knower of all things.
Sura 10.68 They say: Allah has taken a son (to Himself)! Glory be to Him: He is the Self-sufficient: His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; you have no authority for this; do you say against Allah what you do not know?
Sura 17.111 **And say: (All) praise is due to Allah, Who has not taken a son and Who has not a partner in the kingdom, and Who has not a helper to save Him from disgrace; and proclaim His greatness magnifying (Him). **
Sura 21.26 And they say: The Beneficent God has taken to Himself a ! son. Glory be to Him. Nay! they are honored servants
All over the Qur’an, it says that Allah doesn’t have any sons nor does he call anyone his children, but his servants; therefore, the Muslims were not brainwashed. They were following their holy book. The Qur’an also says that Allah does not have a helper (See Sura 17:111). So, again if Allah does not have a helper as it says in the Qur’an, who was Allah referring to when he says “WE” created the heavens and the earth?
