i need help

If I could, Melinda, I would. That’s an amazing story! But it still leaves me skeptical and I don’t know why. I met her a year and a half ago… she’s in Alberta at the moment. She’s just perfect in my eyes – but she’s a lesbian. I wouldn’t care if we didn’t date, I’d love to just be with her in general. I love her. Literally, I do. I never stop thinking about her. She never gets off my mind. We used to talk for a good 8-10 hours a day, but we don’t anymore. I’m going to try to see if she can get on Skype tonight. I just talk to her by either playing a game online with her, messaging her, or getting on Skype with her. I can’t talk to her on the phone because it’ll increase the amount on my cellphone bill. By all means, she’s worth it, but I can’t afford it. I love her. She tells me that I’m one of the few guys she can even talk to. She’s a very misandric person. It’s been an amazing year and six months. It’s all because I met her. She’s actually helped me a lot… she’s my best friend. -_- I’m actually going to try and go to Confession as soon as I can. I still hold atheistic views, but who knows; maybe my atheistic views will change…

I’ve always been there for her, and I always will… I don’t get why I love this girl as much I do. Is it because she’s exactly like me? Because I like her more than just for her physical attractiveness; I love everything about her. I’ve never felt this way before about a girl or guy before. She’s just perfect to me… and she says she’s ugly without makeup… 😦 Definitely not. 🙂

I met her through a friend. At first, she was just someone I barely spoke to… then it turned into something more. 🙂 Was it “God”? What is the probability of me meeting someone that’s EXACTLY like me? I believe it’s very low. She’s exactly like me – nerdy, intelligent, has a lot of allergies, gamer, etc. EXACTLY like me. It’s scary, to be honest. I’ve never met someone that’s exactly me before. It’s like me in a female’s body. 😛

I’m 16 years old, and I would classify myself as bisexual. I have more of an emotional and romantic attraction towards guys and I have more of a sexual attraction towards girls. I was home schooled my whole life all the way until last year. I’m in AP classes, and to be honest, it’s just too easy. I’m never happy anymore. I’m failing almost every class now because I don’t have any self-motivation anymore. I wish I was home schooled again. I was so happy when I was home schooled. Last year, most of my teachers treated me like I was uneducated and misguided because I was home schooled. I proved them wrong. I absolutely hate being in school. They don’t even offer AP Latin or AP Japanese-- or anything that’s actually interesting. I used to be a devout and practicing Catholic, but I left the Church and converted to Atheism. I now honestly see religion as self-belief to give someone a reason to live. It feels like I have no reason to live anymore. Overall, I believe I’ve missed 8 days and school just started in August. I can’t stand it anymore. Does “God” truly exist? Is Theism real in general? I now just play video games, watch anime, read manga, (in Japanese, of course), and pretend that life doesn’t exist. I’m also convinced that I’m bipolar and that I have Multiple Personality Disorder because of how my mood changes so much. Even though I’m more attracted to females, I sort of want to be in a relationship with a male. Although I’m an Atheist, I’m trying to save my virginity for marriage-- so my first time will be more special. Please help me… I’m truly starting to wonder about monotheism and theism in general. I know what I’m typing is very long, but please, help me. I’m also very introverted and I have Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD).

Do I have good punctuation and capitalization? I’m trying. For what some English teachers have said about my capitalization and punctuation, I hear it’s very good. I’m not very self-conscious, I just like writing to be very formal. I don’t like informal writing. I’m very OCD when it comes to typing; I have to try my best to type perfectly. I can’t abbreviate whatsoever. My spelling is perfect though.
FIRST AND NUMBER ONE: From what you describe it sounds as though you are having a bout of serious depression. It will get better, but you need to speak to a professional. I and others here will be more than happy to discuss the existence of God, bisexuality etc, but at the moment this is not the core issue. Of course, God is real and I and others will be praying for you and I can give you many reasons for His existence, but what you are dealing with is more than the symptoms of a loss of faith.Naturally I respect your privacy, but If you wish to private message me so I have some idea of what part of the country you are in I may be able to recommend someone. You’re in a situation where you have too much to handle on your own. It happens to a lot of us at different stages of life.

Feelings of bisexual and homosexual tendencies are usually preceded by feelings of inadequacy. It is not necessary that one actually be rejected by someone else, only that they feel inadequate in some way. The feelings of sexual identity follow.

Our sense of self-determination and identity is informed just as the human person is being formed. On the occasion that a child experiences a change in relationship with some parent, and this can come about through “mere perception” and not by an actual event, one must keep in mind that the single most important sense of a child is the feeling of acceptance, and that sense is incontainable. It is so that the self will seek identification by whatever means available, and when perceived rejection occurs in one place, perceived acceptance will occur in some other place. Without a sense of purpose or meaning in life, the ways in which this occur are innumerable.

As for the existence of God, ask yourself, what would it take to “be” God?

And following those answers, ask also, what purpose is there for God? If God pre-exists humans because God is incontainable by time time or space, then it follows that God’s existence, in himself, is not solely for our sake. But what else? What else is equally transcendent of both time and space? I can only think of one thing not contained by time or space, Love.

Of course, the Bible says that God is Love, but if you’re not a believer, then should that convince you? I am only saying that logically speaking, only God and Love transcend time and space. And I add that the Bible says they are the same.

But if God is Love, then for many people what necessarily follows is the question and problem of pain. Why, if God is Love, does pain exist? Why evil?

Can God, if he is God, deny himself? No. Not logically anyways. Why should he defeat himself? Why should he even attempt to?

So, how do we reconcile God and pain? Well, for most people, the only conclusion they can come to, is the logical one, that some purpose must exist for pain.

What could that be? How could it be for our benefit? It could only be for our benefit if we were worth to God a far greater love than any we have experienced or even imagined.

But how, if we have this sense of rejection or inadequacy could we realize this great love which is supposed to be so unfailing?

We cannot until we make the conscious decision not to allow our feelings to turn us inward on ourselves. But realize that when we open ourselves to the kind of God which this supposed God supposedly intends for us. Then and only then can love be free to come into to us, and fulfill us. We must assent to donate ourselves, whole body and whole mind, to that kind of love which God intends for us.

In the same way that “other” groups try to ask us to be “open-minded” to their view, why not be open minded and open hearted to that one eternal gift which leads us into his eternal presence? If we call ourselves enlightened and scientific, then doesn’t God deserve that equal opportunity? For the sake of scientific pursuit?

I’d say that he does. But there is a condition to this pursuit: there is no half-assing it. It has to be complete.

The promise is this: that a) without God you will never feel whole or adequate, and thus, you will never find in love that which you were meant to find, and b) with God, all things are fulfilled, you will be as whole and complete with the smallest gestures of kindness as with the greatest acts of sacrifice. Your love will be magnified more than it is possible to imagine!!

So all I’m saying is try it. You’re 16, there is time for this. And while you are giving God a chance, I think it would be wise to seek out a priest who can counsel you at the same time. You’ve obviously had certain formative experiences which are preventing you from being completely open to God and these are having a psychological effect, but that can be overcome. Have confidence in that!

You are not who you are. You are who you will. And I’m guessing that since you’ve taken the effort already to write out your thoughts here, that you are a good person, and a person capable of great love!

You came here, you’re on a great path!

Godspeed
