‘Can being create another being?’

This is a vague question that needs to be refined. So the following are my definitions to the terms ‘being’ and ‘create’:

‘being’ refers to any state of existence in the physical or non-physical world;

‘create’ refers to the actuality of non-being into being by physical or non-physical means;

‘another’ refers to that which in ESSENCE is DIFFERENT.

The reason for asking this question: given that our Angelic Doctor said it is impossible for an infinite God to create another God (STh I. Q7.1), why can the creation of imperfect beings glorify God? This question should be placed in the Theology forum. The question stated in the thread, stemming from this theological question, belongs to Philosophy.

Any thoughts?

Taken strictly: Procreation.
…why can the creation of imperfect beings glorify God?
They were not created imperfect - unless you consider the grace of free will to be an imperfection. God is glorified in all that He created, and particularly in comparison to our original progenitors who misused that grace of free will - becoming less than they had been. God is glorified by His insistence on our freedom, since all love - of which God consists - demands a willing and free choice.

By those definitions, anything that didn’t exist invented by man could be considered a creation, no? Cell phone, lawn mower. Maybe the definitions need a bit of adjustment.

Blessings,
Stephie

We did not create the Cell Phone we just assembled its parts. The makings of a cell phone have been around since God created the universe out of “No Thing”. There was nothing and then there was something… this is verifiable by science!
