At Easter Vigil Mass tonight there were many bottles of water next to the baptismal font. After mass, the bottles of water were handed out as Holy Water blessed during the Easter Vigil mass.
I had always understood Holy Water had to be touched by either the priest or the Easter candle during the blessing. These bottles of water were closed at the time of the blessing, and have never been opened. The bottles were sprinkled with Holy Water from the baptismal font, as all the members of the church were during mass.
Is the water inside the bottles considered blessed even though it wasn’t touched by a priest or the Easter candle?
