I am confused. Is it wrong to cheer and root for Tim Tebow since he is not a Catholic.

You can root for Tim Tebow. His religion has no bearing on his status as a football player or anyone’s legitimacy for rooting for him.

I don’t see why we can’t cheer for him. You also are free to boo him. Just because he is protestant doesn’t make him some kind of monster. Heck, he’s probably more christian than a lot of cafeteria Catholics if we were to get into that kind of debate.

Why in the world would that be wrong??
He’s a very inspirational person!
(Not to mention a Florida Gator… 👍)

“In a country of over 92 million, the number of people who have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ is staggering.” Mr. Tebow is speaking of the Philippines and the Catholics who are there. Mr. Tebow does not believe in Catholicism and his particular flavor of the Gospel is very anti Catholic. Please read his website btea.org/index.asp .

Instead of looking up to a football player, why not…St. Juan Diego? Today is his feast day and he is in heaven with our Lord. 😉

Surely you don’t think that Catholics can only cheer for other Catholics…

No…you should not cheer for Tim Tebow because he plays for the Denver Broncos…:rotfl:

I think he is a fine young man…and I pray that someday I will see him in line to receive Our Lord in the Eucharist!

No, but should we really lend our support to a person who’s spiritual mission in life is to take Catholics out of the Church?

I wonder if it’s a sin that I don’t know who Tim Tebow is?

All well and good but St. Juan Diego does not play football on the weekends last time I checked anyway. And as a previous post mentioned, Tebow may be miles ahead from the cafeteria Catholics. What concerns me is his popularity may convert believers to his preferred choice of faith.

God Bless.
