Can Catholics Hate Satan?

I have a friend that I was discussing the power of satan and how the St. Michael the Archangel prayer is a powerful tool to battle satan. He said that his teenage daughter has said she hates satan and he said that we as Catholics should not hate any of God’s creatures, and satan is one of his creations. I disagree, God forgive me, but I do hate satan.
I am looking for some feedback here.
