Can children be born sinning?

I came across the subject phrase, “We are born sinning.”

Other than the stain of original sin, how is it possible to be guilty of sins between the moment of conception and a few/several months after birth when a baby can decide to obey or not? Logically, I can only understand sins that we are aware of and make wrong choices to commit or omit. A baby may not be capable of my definition of sin until almost 2 years of age. Am I on track or way off?

I don’t know where you came across that phrase. It certainly does not represent Catholic teaching. A child can sin only when he has reached the age of reason which the Church considers to be around seven years old.
