I truly believe that the Risen Jesus is present with his glorified body in the consecrated Bread and in the consecrated wine. Help me to understand the Church’s teaching that the bread becomes His risen body, and the wine becomes his risen blood. HOW CAN A RISEN GLORIFIED BODY BE COMPOSED OF FLESH AND BLOOD, and bones? muscle?. Isn’t it a completely new creation. Thank you, Samuela

Hi,

You need to re-read those parts of Scripture where Jesus is present in His glorified body. Even though He was able to pass through locked doors, His body was physical and substantial. He even ate some fish to show them that He wasn’t merely a spirit.

In the Eucharist His body and blood are present UNDER THE APPEARANCE of bread and wine as opposed to the appearance of flesh and bone. At the Last Supper His Apostles witnessed Him under appearances.
