Can confession be received via satellite?

If an astronaut on the space shuttle Discovery was Catholic and he was in need of the sacrament of reconciliation – assuming of course that a priest is not onboard – would it be possible for him to go to confession via satellite or would he have to wait until he returned to earth?
 
He would have to wait until he returned to earth. Confession requires person-to-person contact and cannot be given or received through any medium, including phone, letter, email, Instant Messaging, or carrier pigeon. Given the risks involved in space travel, a Catholic astronaut would be well-advised to go to confession before lift-off.
