My grandmother, who is very dear to me, has expressed her wish that when she is dead, an event that is not very far away, her body be cremated. I know the Church allows this, as long as her ashes are then buried in blessed ground. However, and this is the point, the second part of her wish is that her ashes be strewn over Lake Michigan, which the Church does not permit. My question is: would it be morally problematic to deposit only 95% of her ashes in church ground, and scatter the remaining 5% in accordance with her wishes?
